Today I'm thankful for the women I'm descended from. All survivors, all strong. My mother's line is featured today. I'm grateful to the four women pictured here.
My mother, Nancy McLeod Dingman (Watson), (1922–2001) (on left)
Mother of eight children; poet, children's book author, essayist; cook par excellence.
Her mother, Anna Fredericka Bauer (Ann Bauer Dingman) (1891–1955)
Graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, May 1914; Nurse; served overseas as a Red Cross relief nurse during World War I; mother of four children.
Her mother, Anna "Annie" Fredericka Keim (Bauer) (1862–1954)
Mother of nine children, three of whom died as children; assisted her husband in running hotels in Keyport, New Jersey; President of Long Branch Hospital Association; President of Auxiliary of Company G Third New Jersey Guard; member of Keyport Auxiliary to Monmouth Memorial Hospital.
Her mother, Sophia Doll (Keim) (1824–1884) Immigrated to the United States from Germany; mother of six children.
